2016 Catalyst Forum

Launched in 2013, Sundance Institute’s Catalyst connects culturally engaged investors with the world of independent film and the Sundance community. The invitation-only Catalyst Forum, held every September at the Sundance Resort, offers approximately 35 prospective financiers the opportunity to meet the creative teams behind 10 highly-anticipated feature and documentary film projects, selected by Sundance Institute’s program directors.

Over three days in Utah’s beautiful Wasatch Mountains, the program delves into the risks and rewards of film investing through case studies, round-table discussions, industry seminars, special screenings, and artist conversations. Project presentations, individually scheduled meetings, and informal social gatherings allow investors to interface directly with filmmakers, top advisors, and Sundance Institute program leadership. The goal is to foster a meaningful dialogue that opens new paths to production for the most promising new independent films.

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
