2020 New Frontier Public Session

Storytellers from the Sundance Institute New Frontier Programs present on how they are hacking dynamically-evolving communication architecture to create stories and contribute to the design of our future. Multimedia and transmedia, virtual and augmented reality, immersive and digitally connected experiences, speculative imagination and new technologies all provide unique ways of presenting narrative from diverse voices.

If you don’t know what any of this is, don’t worry: just join us! Seasoned creative technologists and artists will also certainly find inspiration.

This is a FREE event. Registration opens at 11:30 am with a complimentary brunch, before screenings of New Frontier work and artist & audience conversations. A reception will follow.

This program is presented in collaboration with Detroit Narrative Agency. Made possible by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
