Description

Writer/director Paul Bartel follows his popular comedy hit Eating Raoul with Not For Publication (his fifth feature), a zany tale of muck-raking journalism and political scandal. Lois, a highly successful reporter, leads a double life. By day she campaigns for the dashing incumbent Mayor of New York, touting his re-election on an anti-vice ticket. By night she works on a smutty tabloid The Informer with screaming headlines like “Frog Baby Ax Murders!” On assignment covering an orgy at The Bestiary (an underground nightclub where everyone dresses like animals), the trail of a crime leads her back to her political cronies and the Mayor himself. More than human flesh is revealed and from now on it’s a tussel to see who—and what—will be exposed.
