Description

Remember college? Remember the way your friends became your soul mates for ever and ever? Or at least for as long as you were forced to see them day in and day out. Well, that's the case for Eddy, Stuart and Alex, three college juniors who find each other while trying to find themselves. The trio of strangers become roommates due to an administrative error. In the beginning, they fight. Then they become friends. That's when things get interesting.

Alex (Lara Flynn Boyle). the Quirky drama student. has a crush on Eddy (Josh Charles), the studious film major. But Eddy falls for Stuart (Stephen Baldwin), the sex-crazed thrasher. In turn, Stuart lusts after Alex. who wants nothing to do with him So they make a promise: to become a "threesome" and stay friends, and nothing more. A bond begins to form, one only they can understand. Others attempt to infiltrate, only to find themselves the butt of the trio's jokes. Soon enough everything begins to unravel, when Alex makes a move on Eddy, Stuart makes a move on Alex, and Eddy can't figure out what he wants.

Threesome is the bittersweet story of three friends who grow first together and finally apart. Rather than seeming contrived, the credibility and loyalty uniting the characters are genuine and result in a nostalgic look at social life in college. Sleeping With your best friends may complicate things. but it is a complicated time. Writer/director Andrew Fleming illuminates the characters sexual exploration with an innocence and freshness that capture the feelings of college life. Energetic ensemble acting gives the story the honesty and true-to-life accuracy it deserves.
