Description

An original and beautifully shot comedy of mistaken identity, tribal enterprise, bingo, and would-be love, Christmas in the Clouds is a refreshingly original take on Native America with all its comedy, mishap, romance, and cuisine. Newcomer Tim Vahle, as Ray, back from the city to manage his tribe's ski resort has a lot on his mind, but he gets more than he bargained for. With a mostly Native cast and a real feel for the rustic, Christmas in the Clouds sports clever performances from Graham Greene, Sheila Tousey, Rita Coolidge, Wes Studi, M. Emmet Walsh, and Rosalind Ayres. Kate Montgomery's debut feature is expertly crafted, thematically whimsical—which is new to Indians—and delightfully current.
