Description

A radical group of animal-rights activists breaks into a primate research lab to free the caged chimps. Ignoring warning signs and a plea from a terrified researcher, they set the animals free, unleashing a powerful virus on the people of the world. Transmitted by a drop of blood and devastating within seconds, the virus locks the infected person into a permanent state of murderous rage.

Jump…28 days later…a young man awakes from a coma to find the hospital and streets of London hushed and deserted. As he begins his journey to look for survivors, we realize that the virus is not the only thing that threatens him.

British director Danny Boyle returns to Sundance with 28 Days Later, a film that is at once horrifying and haunting. Already a hit in Britain, this remarkably skillful film incorporates sharp digital camerawork and adrenaline-infused editing. The format and style are perfectly suited for capturing this postapocalyptic landscape, and the chilling images are intended to leave a permanent mark on your psyche. 28 Days Later is a thrill to watch: The story unfolds in clever bits and pieces that draw you in, playfully forcing you to make sense of this new world order and create your own definition of reality.
