Fatima's Letter
The myth which is "family is explored in the personal, poetic Stone steps. Inbetween, also a personal documentary, uses collagelike imagery to construct a visual relationship between biography and history, fantasy and reality. Film is increasingly being used by those who are ill to describe their experiences, but few are as imaginative as A Prayer Before Birth. Using horror-film devices, surrealism and a myriad of other visual effects, it stands as a testament to the courage it takes ti come to terms with multiple sclerosis. In Fatima's Letter a woman remembers an event which took place in Pakistan, but she peoples it with the unknown faces she sees as she travels on the London underground.
