The role of war correspondents has changed dramatically over the last ten years. Media conglomerations and the economics of having people "in the field" have reduced our depth of coverage and understanding in many parts of the world. What has this reduction in coverage and protection of journalists cost the global citizenry? Has it heightened the role/responsibility of the independent filmmaker?
