You've Made It to the Sundance Film Festival: What's Next?

Monday, January 25, 4:30 p.m.
Filmmaker Lodge

This look at the second act of emerging filmmakers will feature a panel consisting of young directors as well as agents, managers, and studio production executives. Together, they will discuss the challenges facing emerging filmmakers after they've cleared the exhilarating bar of bringing a film to the Sundance Film Festival. How does one choose and finance the next project? How can one obtain representation? How can one become appealing to a studio? How does one parlay applause in Park City into a successful theatrical release? With the help of a moderator, the panel will examine these and other questions.

Moderator: Dana Harris (editor-in-chief and general manager, Indiewire)
Panelists: Chad Hartigan (director, Morris From America, This is Martin Bonner; UNCSA alumnus), Rebecca Green (producer, I'll See You in My Dreams, It Follows; UNCSA alumna), Peter Van Steemberg (motion picture agent, ICM Partners International Division), Morris Ruskin (producer of more than 50 films, including Glengarry Glen Ross, and CEO of Shoreline Entertainment)
Presented by the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
