All the Real Girls

Institute History

Description

Paul is a brash young country boy who dreams of escaping his small Southern town and becoming something great . . .like a stock car driver or maybe the king of some new country. He was raised by and still lives with his single mother. At 22, Paul has made a life of brief affairs and one night stands, but has yet to find true love. That's until he meets Noel, a beautiful seventeen-year-old girl. She is innocent and pure—and Paul's best friend's sister.

Noel is eager to explore the world that has been hidden from her in her sheltered life at a prestigious boarding school. Paul surprises everyone, mostly himself, by making the bold step of committing to an honest relationship with Noel. She brings out his vulnerable and naïve impulses which had been obscured by his manipulative veneer. In their new sexual awakening, Noel discovers new desires, and Paul for the first time experiences jealousy and frustration. The result is an emotional relationship that veers at Paul like a wrecking ball.

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
