2018 Theatre Lab

The annual Theatre Lab, traditionally held in Utah each summer, will be moving to Fellah Hotel in partnership with Dar al-Ma'mûn, an artist residency outside of Marrakech, Morocco in May 2018. Projects will be selected from both US and MENA theatre artists. This is an innovation of our centerpiece Theatre Lab that directly champions our notion of community. We are now offering a single Lab that brings together artists from the United States and the MENA region. In our international exchange - particularly when we are on foreign soil - we learn a powerful lesson: that real-time, in-person interaction with artists from disparate cultures touches us to our very core. This new Lab offers our community the possibility to re-discover, re-imagine, re-contextualize theatre in a global way. Click here for our Guidelines to apply to the Theatre Lab in MENA.

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
