Description
A disaffected police officer, abandoned by his wife and soughter, finds it increasingly difficult to cope. His ex-wife still hounds him for money, while his cynical, tough-talking, leather-jacketed daughter comes around only for her allowance money. Lonely and living alone in a government highrise, he buys himself a companion—a home computer—which for a time offers him the solace the his previous relationship did not. But this high-tech friend puts a dent in his budget and the ex-cop begins a mad gambling spree that eventually proves to be his undoing. Yuya Uchida, a popular Japanese rock-and-roller with a supporting role in Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, gives here a compelling comic screen presence as the outwardly burnt-out cop with a short fuse burning inside.
