Description

What happens when opposites - an Ivy-league good girl and a macho scam artist - collide? Friction and electricity! In this highly charged drama, an unlikely love affair catapults Claire and Jack out of their comfortable worlds, unleashing a risk-filled, sometimes agonizing journey that shakes each to the core. Claire, leaving the certainty of her academic universe, spirals into life on the edge. Jack's hard shell ultimately cracks to reveal sensitivity and a secret intellectual passion. Inspired by a Chinese novel by Wang Shuo, German director Peter Sehr transposes Love the Hard Way to New York City, which becomes a dangerous, textured backdrop echoing the emotional turbulence on screen. Adrien Brody as arrogant, irresistible Jack, and Charlotte Ayanna as sylphlike, quick-witted Claire sizzle and pop with delicious, unforgettable chemistry.
