  • 2016 Sundance Film Festival

Description

Based on content from past editions of The New Yorker, this series brings us a unique viewing experience that combines documentaries, scripted narrative short films, comedy, poetry, animation, and cartoons. As with the pilot, new episodes bring the pages of the magazine to life, drawing upon its characteristic reportage, fiction, humor, poetry, and cartoons. The season will feature content from award-winning narrative directors and A-list talent from the worlds of film, television, art, and music, and it will debut provocative and insightful documentary films from America’s most acclaimed nonfiction filmmakers.

The Festival presents two episodes, featuring work by Sundance Film Festival alumni Alex Gibney, Steve James, Shari Springer Berman, Blair Foster, Ryan Miller, Robert Pulcini. Following the screening there will be a conversation and Q&A with filmmakers and creators.

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
