Institute History

Description

The Ghost Files is the first of a five book young adult thriller series written by Apryl Baker. The books follow the story of Mattie Hathaway, a sixteen-year-old foster child with the uncanny ability to see ghosts; a power she has tried to repress her entire life. When a serial killer begins preying on the children of the local foster community, Mattie knows that only she is uniquely equipped to stop this nightmare. Teaming up with a police trainee, Dan Richards, the duo utilize her abilities 57 to hunt down and capture the murderer before they can kill their next victim. As the series progresses, Mattie learns more about the origins of her powers and a complex past involving a struggle between good and evil. With each book, more and more of Mattie's past is revealed, and it becomes clear that she may not be in control of her own fate.
