An array of international directors will confront issues of financing, production, and distribution in their native lands. Topics to be addressed include the various problems and situations generated by the domination by U.S. majors of the international marketplace as well as the increasing reach and activities of major international media conglomerate. In addition, the panel will discuss aspects of divergent audiences as well as contrasting critical approaches/. Lastly, the future of filmmaking in the next century, the changing international marketplace, and the importance of fostering national production and film culture will also be considered.
