New Audiences: The Power of Storytelling in Education

Saturday, January 25, 2:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m.
Kimball Art Center, 1401 Kearns Blvd.

Bodyguard and On My Block were the most-binged shows in 2018—in other words, they’re stories people can’t stop watching. Why not look to the power of storytelling to transform education? Strayer Studios and the Blackhouse Foundation will discuss how aligning curriculum with authentic storytelling is shaping the future of education. Featuring Nicole Cattell, Head of Strayer Studios; Karl McDonnell, CEO of Strategic Education, Inc. (parent company of Strayer University); Chamique Holdsclaw, WNBA All-Star featured in Strayer content; and Ryan Poirier, distinguished professor. Moderated by Brickson Diamond.

Presented by Strayer Studios and the Blackhouse Foundation.

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
