The rise of digitized media, broadband connectivity, high-definition television, and wireless protocols has the world of distribution poised at the edge of radical change. In the near future, technological seed change seems destined to change the way we watch movies, engage the television, play games, talk on the phone, use the internet, etc. Now is the time to educate ourselves in the ways the industry will change, and the future of cinema in a world of digitized delivery systems. What do IPTV, WiMAX, HDNET, and SVOD have in common? Will VOD kill DVD and broadcast? Are the new mobile devices up to the task? How do we adapt to a world where we receive information faster than we can keep up? Is there money to be made along the way? Moderated by Orly Ravid, independent distribution consultant and buyer for Wolfe Releasing, this panel gathers an array of noted speakers, from those who create and sell, to those who observe and critique it.

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
