Critics' Score Card: What Independents Do Right And Wrong

Film criticism played an important role in shaping the French New Wave and has the potential now to help determine and foster the American independent film movement. A number of important critics have championed American independent filmmakers, but until now there has been little significant overall critical debate. This provocative seminar, with a number of influential critics, intends to initiate that discussion.
