Always one of the most anticipated music events at the Festival, join us for a special evening to celebrate the art and imagination of film music. A truly unique night of musical achievement and appreciation, this year’s concert is sure to be an unforgettable Festival highlight. Ice-T and some of the legendary rappers from the film SOMETHING FROM NOTHING: THE ART OF RAP will take the stage together and perform some of their well-known songs as well as freestyle. This promises to be a very unique performance that is not likely to be repeated, especially in a venue with a 300-seat capacity. Some of the rappers confirmed are rap pioneer Chuck D, the powerful front man for Public Enemy, and Grandmaster Caz, one of the early founders of rap music who wrote most of the lyrics to "Rapper's Delight." Given that these luminaries are such magnets, it is quite likely there will be some other surprises performers on the night of the show.
As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
