Film Forward: Colombia (Bogota, Bucaramanga, and Medellín)

FILM FORWARD heads to Colombia for a second year, collaborating with the U.S. Embassy, Bogota, Proimagenes, and the bi-national centers (BNCs) of Medellin and Bucaramanga. FILM FORWARD will be traveling to Bogota, Bucaramanga, and Medellin with filmmakers Jeff Orlowski (Chasing Ice) and Nancy Buirski (The Loving Story), providing screenings, workshops, and discussions with filmmakers in a wide-range of venues throughout the country.

Both films share powerful stories that address important social issues prevalent all over the world. Chasing Ice follows acclaimed photographer, James Balog, and reveals visually stunning time-lapse videos of vanishing glaciers, delivering fragile hope to our carbon-powered planet. The Loving Story is a journey into the heart of race relations in America, sharing the racially-charged criminal trial and heart-rendering love story about Mildred and Richard Loving.

In addition to Chasing Ice and The Loving Story, the program will screen five other films including Bones Brigade, Town of Runners, La Misma Luna, Valley of Saints, and The Light in Her Eyes.

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
