Jan 23 Adobe Presents: How Technology is Blurring the Lines between Indie and Hollywood

Friday, January 23, 2015
3:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m.
Microcinema, New Frontier

Whether you aspire to be a successful indie filmmaker or you’re creating the next big Hollywood blockbuster, it’s never been easier. Thanks to huge leaps in technology, the lines are blurring for creating, post producing and distributing all genres of films. Now filmmakers can efficiently create high-quality productions, even on a budget. In this session you will meet some of the brightest, up-and-coming filmmakers as well as veteran Hollywood heavyweights. Join Rob Legato (Misery Loves Comedy [SFF 2015], Wolf of Wall Street, HUGO, AVATAR), and Kyle Alvarez (The Stanford Prison Experiment [SFF 2015], C.O.G., Easier with Practice), and Dave Ginsberg, CTO of Sundance Institute and former technology executive with Warner Bros. as they share secrets behind how they create their stunning productions.

As you use our Online Archives, please understand that the information presented from Festivals, Labs, and other activities is taken directly from official publications from each year. While this information is limited and doesn't necessarily represent the full list of participants (e.g. actors and crew), it is the list given to us by the main film/play/project contact at the time, based on the space restrictions of our publications. Each entry in the Online Archives is meant as a historical record of a particular film, play, or project at the time of its involvement with Sundance Institute. For this reason, we can only amend an entry if a name is misspelled, or if the entry does not correctly reflect the original publication.
