SONIC STORYTELLING and SUSAN SONTAG with composers Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum & Laura Karpman, with guest violinist Lisa Liu.
A discussion, through music and words, about the work of composers Laura Karpman & Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum. With live demonstrations, a look/listen at their collaboration on the music for Regarding Susan Sontag (HBO), as well as conversations about film music and ideas for exploding the visibility of female composers scoring picture. Karpman & Kroll-Rosenbaum are both Sundance Institute alumnae and Juilliard graduates. Karpman, whose collaborators include Steven Spielberg, Kasi Lemmons, and Rodrigo Garcia, has 4 Emmys and numerous nominations. Now playing, Kroll-Rosenbaum's music can be heard in Nikole Beckwith's Stockholm, Pennsylvania.
