Description
Lydia is a moving story of a young girl's struggle against all the odds. Our heroine is a bright, spirited thirteen year-old from a rural village in Tanzania. Unable to pay her school fees, she accepts a job as a domestic servant in the capital city. Once there she loses all contact with her family, becoming a virtual child slave. Her only escape is into her world of make-believe.
Using magical realism, this film will combine fact and fantasy to challenge and inspire the audience. Our heroine will make them laugh, cry, and care deeply about her struggles and plight.
