Description
In February 2002, the world watched as the best skiers and snowboarders in the world gathered to compete at the Salt Lake City Olympic games. In the months and years leading up to this event, two athletes, both members of the skiing and snowboarding elite, dreamed of competing in the Olympics in their own hometown of Park City, Utah.
For U.S. National Snowboard Team member Ricky Bower, and U.S. National Aerial Team member Joe Pack, as for any athlete with big dreams, the road to the Olympics is difficult and unsure, and no one, no matter how talented or well-ranked, is a shoe-in. Providing an insider's glimpse into the daily lives of two remarkable athletes, Pipe Dreams follows Ricky and Joe during the eight months leading up to the Olympics—a whirlwind of constant travel and rigorous qualifying competitions. Along the way, the athletes come face to face with crash landings, heartbreaking injuries, and the pressure of nailing the perfect run. Happily, the film also captures the exquisite thrill of soaring perfectly over the snow that makes it all worthwhile.
With candid interviews, an exhilarating soundtrack, and some truly dazzling ski footage, filmmakers Enzo Mileti and James Fields, also from Park City, have created a thrilling look into the lives of two hometown heroes.
